Application Forms

Below is a table showing, for each scheme, the month in which the deadline will fall and the month when decisions will be made regarding applications.

This is designed to be useful when planning future applications to the PRS Foundation. Please follow the links on the left for this year's exact deadlines.

The exact deadlines for applications to be submitted to all PRS Foundation schemes will change each year, but they occur at broadly the same time.

Deadline dates are highlighted in RED while decision dates are shown in GREEN.

Deadline calender

For exact deadlines for all schemes in 2008 please navigate via the links in the grey box on the left.

The different schemes available can be navigated by selecting from the menu on the left, though we recommend that you read all of the information below first.

1. IMPORTANT INFORMATION

It is essential that you read all of the important information below before you start to compile your application as it will really help you to put your best foot forward when applying. We want to help you to put in a good application - we're not here to catch you out!

2. DON'T FORGET TO MAKE IT INTERESTING!

When you apply to The PRS Foundation, the main thing to remember is that we are for new music. However, it is not enough to simply be putting on music events which feature new music within our remit. Because of the demand on our funds we are really looking to support organisations and groups that can demonstrate that they're doing something really interesting, innovative, original or exciting which will develop the new music landscape in the UK.

Please note that you can only apply to one scheme per calendar year, regardless of the outcome.

If you are not sure which scheme is most suitable for you, please contact the Applications Department on 020 7306 4044.

3. ABOUT THE APPLICATION FORMS

Please note
that in 2008 you will need to send 3 copies of your application.

The application forms (which also contain the guidelines) for each scheme are listed alphabetically from the menu on the left and are available as pdf downloads. To open/print these documents you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader. If you do not have Acrobat the software can be obtained easily and for free from http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

The forms should be very simple to download. However if you do have difficulty downloading the forms, hard copies are available from the Applications Department by calling 020 7306 4044

4. HOW TO FORMAT YOUR APPLICATION

As long as all the information is clearly shown, we don't mind how you format your budget or programme information sheets. However, you must submit 3 copies of your application in the following format

  • A4 portrait layout
  • Loose leaf (i.e. no staples)
  • Single sided
  • Font size no smaller than 10pt
  • In black and white

5. HOW MUCH TO APPLY FOR

Please note that the average award made by The PRS Foundation in 2007 was around £3,000.

It is important to ask The PRS Foundation for a realistic sum in order that we can support applicants at a realistic level. If you would like guidance please contact the Applications Department on 020 7306 4044.

6. WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO YOUR APPLICATION

All applications will firstly be assessed by our specialist advisors and then passed to the Trustees for their final decision. Decisions are made around 8-10 weeks after the application deadline.

You'll be contacted very quickly by post after the final decision has been made, so please try to resist the temptation to call us to find out how you got on, as it can hold us up!

7. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

You may find it useful to have a look at a list of Frequently Asked Questions. Please note that we cannot currently support the following:
